12 Days of Holiday Decorating Ideas Day 7
#7, Here is another unique wreath idea that I just Love! find a wreath form from your local arts and crafts store, and hot glue acorns to it. In this photo, the acorns were spray painted white. When doing this type of project, think of items that can be purchased in bulk for not a lot of money: peppermint candies, shelled nuts, beads, old jewelery, etc.. and glue them on a form, makes for a one-of-a kind piece. If you don't own a glue gun, run right out and get one today!'

How easy to make, just purchase some medium gauge wire from your local home improvement store, make two rings, one small, one large, then glue down the Popsicle sticks in a random pattern. Over the next two weeks I will share with you "The 12 Days of Holiday Decorating Tips" Simple arrangements you can pull together with what you have around the house. What are some of your favorite holiday decorating tips?
#1 is one of my favorites because we all have glass vessels of some kind in our house. You can use a vase, bowl, apothecary jar; any type glass vessel. If you don't have one, you can find inexpensive options at discount stores, Michaels, even the Dollar Store. It is best to group small ones together, or use one large one as a statement piece. You can choose a color theme as illustrated below and really give your home a jolt of color for the holidays. You can use these all over your home; as center pieces, on the bathroom vanity, on the fireplace mantle, just about any flat surface. Give it a try and send in your pic!

Shop small local business
Tonight, my last tip for shopping local; New and Used Furniture and Decor. Shopping new, used, antique and vintage, is key to pulling together an affordable well designed space. My favorite new and used spots are: Harbor Home Consignments in Gig Harbor, Hidden Treasures in Tacoma, and Hope Furnishings in Tacoma.
Harbor Home has excellent quality designer items at a fraction of the price. Hidden Treasures is a gold mine of as-found vintage and used home furnishings. Hope Furnishings offers both new and used furniture, many of their new items are donated from Big Name retailers. And of course, it would not be a complete new and used category, without giving a shout out for More Decor!
Below is a room I am working on with a client made up of items from some of these local shops. What are some of your favorite new or used furniture and decor spots? Have fun shopping this weekend, and have fabulous holiday!

Living Room and Kitchen Staging Photos
Staging Project of the Week!
I was so excited to work with Realtor Stephen Janho and his client to stage this beautiful Renton home. My goal was to capture the classic and timeless essence of the home, and to highlight the large living space as a warm and inviting space for the family to hangout and entertain. In the kitchen, I accentuated the eat-in features with a breakfast table and chairs, and highlighted the large amount of counter space and storage with a few choice items.
Want to know a quick inexpensive way to add instant value to your kitchen? Change out the hardware. Before, this kitchen had dated brass handles on the cabinetry; I suggested to the homeowner to change them out with an oil rubbed bronze finish to match the updated traditional look of the home, instant equity!
